The Correlation between Predictability of Shelf Life, Job Security and Organizational Commitment on Nurses Shelving in Purchasing Contract at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical

Abstract

 Introduction Nurses have a significant role in improving the performance of health organizations and the organization's transcendental goals. Therefore, their intention to quit is one of the most important problems in human resource management. The aim of this study is to determine the correlation between Predictability of Shelf Life, Job Security and Organizational Commitment on Nurses' shelving in purchasing contract at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical. Methods This is a descriptive-correlation study conducted in 2017. The study population included Nurses in purchasing contracts in hospitals affiliated to Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. In this study, 250 Nurses were selected through simple random sampling. Data was collected by questionnaire consist of four part, demographic questionnaire, the “ Anticipated Turnover Scale” (ATS), the “ Allen & Meyer Organizational Commitment Questionnaire” and the “ Job Security Questionnaire” . Validity of the instruments were confirmed by content validity and their reliability were confirmed by Cronbach's alpha. Data were analyzed using SPSS 21. Results The mean and standard deviation of the intention to quit was 3. 15 ± 0. 39. The mean and standard deviation of occupational safety and Organizational Commitment were 3. 15 ± 0. 49 and 3. 21 ± 0. 52, respectively. There was a significant and positive correlation between the Predictability of Shelf Life with Job Security (r = 0. 212) and Organizational Commitment (r = 0. 141). Also, there was a positive and significant correlation between Job Security and Organizational Commitment (P < 0. 05). Conclusions A Significant correlation was found between Job Security and Organizational Commitment with the Predictability of Shelf Life. Therefore, it is essential that managers pay more attention to changing the levels of Nurses' employment buying in order to increase Job Security and Organizational Commitment.
