Title

STUDY OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MOTIVATION BELIEFS AND SELF-REGULATED LEARNING STRATEGIES WITH PROCRASTINATION IN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Abstract

 This research was conducted to study the relationship between MOTIVATION BELIEFS and LEARNING STRATEGIES with PROCRASTINATION among STUDENTS. For this Purpose, 300 undergraduate STUDENTS, (110 males and 190 females) were selected by stratified sampling method from Social Science and Humanistic Department of Tabriz University. Data was gathered using PROCRASTINATION Assessment Scale-student (PASS) and Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ). Data were analyzed by multiple regression (stepwise) and path analysis. The results showed that self-efficacy, high level of LEARNING STRATEGIES, intrinsic valuing, and test anxiety were correlated with PROCRASTINATION. Also, it was founded that 37% of the variance of PROCRASTINATION was accounted by linear combination of self-efficacy, high level of LEARNING STRATEGIES, intrinsic valuing and anxiety.
