A STUDY OF INVESTIGATING AND COMPARING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF IMPLEMENTING QUALITATIVE AND DESCRIPTIVE EVALUATION AND TRADITIONAL EVALUATION ON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS’ SOCIAL SKILLS

Abstract

 The study conducted to investigate the effectiveness of implementing qualitative descriptive evaluation on ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS SOCIAL SKILL in Ardabil Province in 2009-2010. The research method was Causal comparative. The statistical population included all the elementary schools with descriptive evaluation method which were chosen for comparison with their counterpart traditional evaluation. The chosen sample size was 999 elementary students’ and 99 teachers. The data were collected through researcher made questionnaires. The SPSS software was used to analyse the data. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyse the hypotheses. The results showed that descriptive evaluation has more effect on group work, cooperation, reducing the competition and engagements in discussions than the traditional evaluation. Based on the findings, the descriptive evaluation is recommended with some reforms.
